Brazil depicts enormous potential for converting to renewable energy under the leadership of their next President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva

Congratulations Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as Brazil’s next President. Lula pledged to clamp down on illegal logging, mining and land grabbing that have driven the surging deforestation of the Amazon over the past four years “Brazil is ready to retake its leadership in the fight against the climate crisis,” Lula supporters in Sao Paulo. “Brazil and the planet need a living Amazon.” as reported by Reuters.

Brazil joins the U.S., and Australia as major countries that have shifted toward administrations with pro environmental policies in recent years. In combination with Europe, which has been accelerating renewables to transition off lost Russian gas, policy tailwinds for wind and solar growth has expanded significantly in major geographies over the last year.

Brazil has been a priority for us at Nextracker since our first solar power plants in that country 6 years ago. Earlier this year we launched our Brazil Center for Solar Excellence outside of Sao Paulo and have been manufacturing in Brazil to serve that region for many years https://lnkd.in/gHfHcyhP

Brazil has enormous potential and opportunity for converting to renewable energy, and it’s an exciting time to be at the intersection of a progressive political shift with our efforts on-the-ground. We look forward to ushering in an era of aggressive, and achievable, renewable energy goals and continuing to support the acceleration to solar energy and job creation in Brazil.
