As Vice President of Global Asset Management and Support at NEXTracker, Martin (“Marty”) Rogers oversees worldwide service and support for the rapidly growing company.

With a career spanning multiple continents and countries, Marty has built highly regarded field and support service organizations around the world. As Vice President, Global Service and Support and GM for Next Phase Solar Services at microinverter technology pioneer Enphase Energy, Marty led the services organization during one of the fastest ramps in the company’s installed base. Prior to Enphase, Marty served as Global VP of Services for Power One, managing a service network that included both field intervention teams as well as backroom support and repair teams. Marty came to Power One after 15 years with Schneider Electric, where he managed global teams in product development, international marketing and services and spent several years leading local support divisions in Singapore, the Philippines, and France. As Global Director of Schneider Services, Marty oversaw a service organization across 100 countries.

A New York state native, Marty is a graduate of the Binghamton University, and holds an MBA in International Business from Washington State University and lives in Nashville TN with his wife and two children.

Marty Rogers’ NEXTracker’s Story

Marty Rogers has always been a tinkerer. The son of an electrical contractor, he went to work for his dad’s company when he was 15 – and has enjoyed figuring out how to fix things ever since.

He learned early on how to talk to customers, understand their problems, and find the right solution. He also understood the value of hard work – through college he continued to work for his dad and when he graduated he decided to start a business of his own. For the next 10 years Marty ran a successful wholesale electrical business while pursuing his MBA in his spare time.

In 1992 Marty went to work for Schneider Electric – the French multinational energy management company that at that time was refocusing its business on the electrical sector. He worked his way up, serving in U.S. and international product marketing and sales positions, and in 1998 he was promoted to President and GM of Schneider Philippines. With full P&L responsibility of an underperforming division, Marty led the local team with entrepreneurial vision and turned the division around. He instilled the same energy as Director of Schneider’s North American Services team, and in 2001 he became Global Director of Schneider Services, where he was charged with improving the profitability of the Services business and did so by developing consistent, customer-focused service operations across 100 countries.

After years of international commuting, Marty returned home to Nashville, where he joined Power Distribution Inc., helping the Richmond-based company develop a new busway-based power distribution product in six months that earned the company a game-changing order with Facebook. He wasn’t able to stay away from solar for long and was recruited by Power One as VP of Global Services. Two years later — when microinverters were rewriting the rules of residential solar – he joined Enphase as VP and GM of Next Phase Solar Services, the company’s internal services business.

From 2012 to 2016, microinverters were being installed by the hundreds of thousands — and Enphase was in the midst of a growth ramp that would cause many service organizations to buckle under the pressure. But Marty maintained a steady, customer-focused attitude that has made him one of the most respected voices in solar services today.

When the opportunity arose to join NEXTracker as it expands in a similar growth trajectory, Marty didn’t hesitate.

“The services business is so interesting because every day is completely different,” Marty says. “Every day there’s a different question and finding solutions to customer problems is the coolest thing in the world.”

For Marty, applying his well-earned services experience to utility-scale solar projects is an opportunity to see the fruition of three decades of work — and to help the solar industry mature as never before.

Marty is the type of leader you would like to work with on every major project. As a Schneider Global Director for the service business, he drove his team like nobody could. He’s able to review technical options and make quick informed decisions to help lead to efficient solutions.”
